TURKEY yesterday said it fears being swamped by 100,000 refugees fleeing Syrian government violence.

The country, which is welcoming those seeking safety, is considering setting up a buffer zone to house them. Many have crossed the border from the north-west town of Jisr al-Shughour, attacked by Syrian security forces on Friday.
