I haVe 9 just bought an auberginecoloured suite with curtains and cushions to match. But I'm struggling to buy any aubergine nick- nacks. Can you help? - Anne Anderson, Rugby, Warks ZENA SAYS: 2 Aubergine is a very strong, dark colour which absorbs the light. So rather than add more of it, I would recommend a contrast colour instead to bring out its beautifully rich warm qualities.

I like greens with this deep purple, especially lime and minty shades. I'd start with some cushions - either plain green or something patterned with both colours.
