WhEN Gemma King's Art deco apartment block was built in the 1930s, the rent on her flat was pounds 115 a year. That included access to an in-house restaurant, a post office, tennis courts and a manned front desk with porter.
Seventy-five years later it cost Gemma pounds 157,000 to buy the one bedroom flat at Taymount Grange in South London. The communal facilities have long gone but, 18 months after moving in Gemma's flat is almost back to its old Art deco glory.See the full content of this document
