A TERRITORIAL Army soldier traumatised by the horrors of Afghanistan is suing the MoD after his pleas for help were ignored.
Courier firm boss Paul Doyle, 31, carried a dying colleague from the battlefield under Taliban fire during one of dozens of fights he faced in his six-month tour. He was left with flashbacks and emotional problems but when he saw his Manchester TA unit's welfare officer he was told, "you'll be all right." The former regular soldier said 15 calls were ignored and he became increasingly troubled. Now with the aid of charity Combat Stress he is claiming "negligent failure" to treat his Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and could win a six-figure sum in the landmark case over the Army's duty of care.
