THE FORD Galaxy is one of the more bizarre success stories in the blue oval line-up.

Fearing that the Galaxy may suffer the fate that befell the other big Ford, the Scorpio, the company introduced the slightly smaller, slightly sexier S-Max which gave buyers an alternative to the larger Galaxy model. The S-Max idea was a good one and sold well, but the odd thing is that the Galaxy, rather than live in the S-Max's shadow, often actually outsold its slightly sportier brother.
