ARRIVING in a city by train instead of plane is so much more civilised - you turn up in the middle of town instead of at some ghastly airport miles beyond the suburbs.
So just half an hour after our sleeper car pulled into the platform at Madrid, we were taking a morning dip in the rooftop pool of the Holiday Inn.
