WHAT price a child's innocence? Well, according to some idiot judge at Winchester Crown Court it's about pounds 2,000. That's the amount paedophile choirmaster Peter Halliday has been ordered to pay his victims - some of whom he abused when they were as young as nine.
Oh yes, two grand is ample compensation for a ruined childhood and a lifetime of emotional and sexual problems - I don't think. But then it's clear this country's judicial system puts paedophilia on a par with speeding and car theft. Because having admitted 10 counts of sexual abuse between 1986 and 1990 Halliday was sentenced to just two and a half years (he'll be out in 15 months). And that was just for the crimes he admitted.
