Football: Jacek's Up for a Cracker

Summary

AMICAWronki striker Jacek Dembinski last night savoured the arrival of Rangers at the Amica Stadium on Thursday, as thestart of the club's biggest football achievement. The Polish side have reached the group stage of the UEFA Cup, in theirfifth season in Europe, with one of the youngest squads in Polish football. And the front man believes the visit of a club with the stature of Rangers will convince their fans and the rest of Poland that Amica have arrived. Dembinski said: "The club was only formed 12 years ago and they have had a struggle to get the financial backing to make progress. "And to bein a group with clubs from Holland, France and Austria, is everything we had hoped for when we reached the draw for this stage. "The money we will earn from the four games will be more than the club's income for any complete season before now, soyou can tell the impact this is having.

"We have total respect for Rangers and all the other teams we'll play, but after defeating Venspils and Honved, there is no need for us to fear anyone. "The key to our chances are in our two matches at the Amica Stadium, we are happy we have Rangers and AZ Alkmaar coming here, they would have beendifficult away games. "We have a very good record at home, in front of our own fans and now we need to build on that and improve our performances and results in away games. "We know we will have to take some points from the games at Auxerre and Graz, as well as try to win our home matches, if we are to qualify.
