CLIFF JONES, one of the stars of Bill Nicholson's all-conquering side of the 1960s, claims the White Hart Lane legend should have been knighted for his services to football and to the club.

And Nicholson's tough-guy skipper Dave Mackay, who lifted the FA Cup in 1967, urged Spurs to hold a memorial night similar to that organised by Derby in honour of Brian Clough last week.
