As Euro 2004 kicked off yesterday without Scotland taking part the events of 1974 seem to be a lifetime away. Thirty years ago Scotland strutted onto the World stage for the first time in 16 years, while England failed to qualify, losing out to Poland and Wales.
After comfortable wins home and away against theDanes, Scotland had to beat the Czechs to qualify with almost 100,000 packed into Hampden.
