This month Nymphas - Water Lilies - a fabulously desirable painting by the great artist appears at auction in London and is part of one of the most exciting art auctions of the year.

Basics MONET (1840-1926) was the most prominent Impressionist painter and is today one of the most celebrated Europeans in art history. Nymphas (pictured below) to be offered at Christie's is the largest of nine surviving pictures he painted in 1906. It was one of five from the same year shown at the celebrated 1909 exhibition at Galerie Durand-Ruel, Paris.
