Ten months ago, Estha Sankey weighed more than 19st 7lb and couldn't even walk upstairs without getting out of breath. Her weight was spiralling out of control - then she learned her son, Daryl, now 13, was being bullied at school because of her weight.

'Daryl was in his final year of junior school when one day he came home and didn't seem his normal self,' she says. 'I asked him what the problem was and he refused to tell me at first.
